Aug 31 - 7th

We went over correct answers to the Problem Statement WS.

Students saw about different technology used in science. See prezi.

Students signed up for edmodo.

Homework is the front side of the variable WS.

Aug 31 - 8th

Students started class by logging onto edmodo.com. Some students remembered their info from last year, some made new accounts using their 0ffice 365 information.

Aug 30 - 7th

Classes discussed answers to page 3 in the notebook (Review and Brain work).

Students were assigned Problem Statement WS for homework )due tomorrow.

Aug 30th - 8th

We discussed Review and Brain work questions for the marshmallow tower and wrote them on page 5 in our notebook. Click here to see page 5.

We began discussing the room design project. Papers, checklist, and rubric will be handed out tomorrow.

Aug 29th - 7th

Students used tablets to check their grades for all classes.

Students put the finishing touches on their foldable and worked on review and brain work questions for page 3 in their notebook. Click here to see those questions.

Aug 26 - 7th

Students finished working on their scientific method foldable. This took a little longer than expected, possibly because it was the first one we have done.


Aug 29th - 8th grade

Students checked their grades for the week and put page 4 into their notebook as board work.

Students worked in groups to try and make the tallest tower for the marshmallow challenge.

Aug 26 - 8th

We had a class discussion reviewing the Brain and Review work from yesterday. We also worked together as a class to show an example of engineering design using a classroom fan.

Students worked on their scientist drawing for notebook page 1.

Aug 25th-7th

We finished discussing class expectations. Students were asked to bring their parent signature back by tomorrow.

I explained to the students how the notebooks work. Students started page 2.

We then began working on a foldable to explain the scientific method.

Aug 25 - 8th

Students were assigned "their" tablet.

Students finished their notes on engineering design. When finished, students began working on review and brain work questions.

Homework was to finish any review or brain work that they didn't get done in class.

Aug 24th - 8th

 Students placed their class expectations inside the front cover of their science notebook.

We began page 2 in the notebook on engineering design. We also used our new tablets! Some minor connectivity issues, but a nice addition to our classroom.


Aug 24 - 7th grade

Students completed the game to demonstrate knowing their teacher.

We then went over the class expectations. Students were asked to take the expectations home to share with parents and return with a parent signature.

Aug 23 - 7th

Students were reminded to have a science notebook asap.

We finished the presentation about Mr. Bickerman.

We then played a review game to see how closely students listened and knew their teacher.

Aug 23 - 8th

First hour worked to improve the physical appearance of the room. Second and Third hour worked to set expectations that should happen in the science classroom.

Students should have their parent signature turned in by Friday.

Monday, August 22, 2016

Aug 22 - 7th

Students were asked to make sure they have a notebook for science.

Students filled out the About You sheet.

We started the presentation about Mr. Bickerman...it's really exciting!

Aug 22 - 8th

Students went to the assembly and through their behavior expectation stations.

During class time, students were given class expectations and we discussed them together.

We will continue this discussion tomorrow.
